Katy on a Mission

This week, we welcome Senate District 19 candidate, Katy Owens, as we talk about her commitment to park inside the lines (side eye, Allen Christensen), her experience with elections policy, and what she hopes to accomplish if elected to the Utah state Senate. Ogden to Discuss 100% Renewable Energy Commitment This Week

The Ogden City Council will be hosting a work session this week (Tuesday, November 19th) to consider opting in to a Rocky Mountain Power program allowed under HB411.

The program allows cities to opt-in to RMP's program of being powered by 100% renewable energy by 2030, while working with them to put together the plan.

The deadline to opt-in is December 31st, 2019 and, if the city does not like the price tag after going through the process, they are allowed to opt-out and move forward.

Read more about the process in this Standard-Examiner article from Mitch Shaw.

Senate District 19 Candidate Katy Owens

Anyone who has listened to the show long enough is fully aware of our strong dislike of SD19 state senator Allen Christensen. His unwillingness to listen to constituents and his sponsorship of SB96 this year to change Proposition 3 from what voters approved, costing the taxpayer more, are just a few reasons. (#AllenChristensenHatesYourKids)

So, as we look forward to 2020, we've invited Katy Owens, who will be running for the same seat whether the good Senator chooses to run again or not, to come share her background, motivation for running, and what she hopes to accomplish if elected.

Action:

Check the out Katy's campaign webpage here. Don't forget to follow her on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Be sure to sign up for her mailing list so you can know when and how to get involved in her campaign. This is grassroots, people!
